Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you don't find what you are looking for, please feel free to contact us.

  • Can any loft space be converted?

Unfortunately sometimes it is not practical to convert your loft space. We offer a FREE no obligation survey and consultation, where we will be able to discuss your ideas and the feasibility of converting your loft. There may be various options available to you to consider.

  • Do I need planning permission for my loft conversion?

Some loft conversions require planning permission. Generally this is required when you live in a conservation area or a flat/maisonette. If this does not apply to your property then under permitted/lawful development rights a Certificate of Lawfulness can be obtained from your local authority.

  • What about Building regulations/drawings and local authority approval?

All loft conversions for habitable accommodation have to conform to current building regulations. Working plans and structural calculations are produced by our in house architects that work closely with you to maximise space and optimize the potential of your loft space. Our service includes the preparation and submissions of these plans to your local authority. All appropriate notices are served and on your behalf we liaise with your local authority.

  • What timescale can I expect for my loft conversion be complete?

We specialise in all forms of loft conversions. We have gained a vast wealth of experience and expertise whilst carrying out this type of work for more than 32 years. We manage the whole process from design to completion, using our specialised team of master tradesman. We only make realistic deadlines and will make you aware of any issues that may change this along the way. We are trusted, recognised loft conversion specialists. Typically under normal circumstances a loft conversion will take approx 6-10 weeks to complete.

  • Can I see a completed loft conversion or reference from previous customers?

Yes, we would be more than happy to show you one of our completed loft conversions, renovations, bathroom or kitchen installation. We will also put you in touch with our past customers so they can share their experiences.

  • What disruption to my day to day life can I expect?

We try to keep disruption to the house holder to a minimum. For the initial part of the conversion we will not need to gain access to your house. All entry and exit will be through the roof via the scaffold. We will only access your house when absolutely necessary.

  • Are you fully insured to carry out my loft conversion?

Yes, we have full liability insurance. A copy can be presented on request.

  • Do you handle the installation of plumbing and electrics?

Yes, this is all included in the quote and price given.

  • How much will my loft conversion cost and how do I pay?

Each and every loft conversion is different, therefore costs do vary. Following our initial consultation a full and ALL INCLUSIVE quote will be submitted. Our quote is designed to be clear; we guarantee there are no hidden or extra charges. We accept an initial deposit to prepare and schedule your loft conversion. Once construction is underway stage payments follow with the balance to be paid on the completion of the conversion. This will all be detailed in your quotation.

  • Will you carry out other works within the house if requested?

Yes, we do more than just loft conversions. We regularly are invloved with kitchen and bathroom re-fits, staircases, house extensions, bi-fold doors and roof lanterns. We are happy to do any additional work either alongside or at the conclusion of your loft conversion project.
